FISC offers a wide variety of ministries and professional training seminars and workshops in order to develop media-minded ministers, missionaries, laymen and media professionals. Seminar topics includes:

1. Media in Ministry Workshop Series

Partnering with various Christian organizations, FISC offers a wide variety of ministry and professional training seminars, accessible to a wide variety of people in order to develop media-minded ministers, missionaries, laymen and media professionals. Seminar and workshop topic range from:

  • Presentation for Ministry Workshop
    The first topic of FISC workshop began with PowerPoint presentation due to the comprehensiveness and the need of the skills in many ways. Local churches, missionaries, parachurch organizations participated in the first PPT workshop in 2006.
  • Basic Audio and Video Production
    Partnering with WMC-AP, FISC intent to provide quality basic audio and video productions that benefit local churches and missionaries. FISC has provided basic video production workshop to Manila New Life Church for various ministry needs in the local church. Several other Korean churches joined in the workshop in 2008.
  • Photography Workshop
    Since 2006, FISC has provided a series of photography workshops with WMC-AP. The workshops cover digital photography skills for beginners and digital photo editing for local church workers, missionaries, APNTS students and faculty members. Manila New Life Church invited FISC to provide the same photography workshop in 2007.

2. Writing workshop

FISC has been actively partnering with other organizations in the development of writing in the region. In 2008, FISC jointly sponsored a writer’s workshop, entitled “Re-Written Workshop” (July 24-26) hosted by World Mission Literature AP and WMC-AP. Later that year, FISC also sponsored another writer’s workshop, entitled, “BEAUTY for ASHES: A Christian Writer’s Workshop,” hosted by the Institute for Studies in Asian Church and Culture, September 4-6, 2008.

3. Community Outreach Program

FISC has joined an interdepartmental outreach program of APNTS which aims to develop the community through ICT education. Step-UP (Stop Trafficking and Exploitation of People through [Microsoft’s] Unlimited Potential) Project is the latest local initiative under Unlimited Potential, Microsoft’s global program which focuses on improving lifelong learning for undeserved young people and adults by providing technology skills through community-based organizations around the world. FISC, partnering with Donald Owens School of World Mission and Religious education department, focuses on training for trainers who will set up community development program in the local communities.

4. Communication Principles and Practices

FISC has made a MOA with Han Gang Media High School in Korea to provide media and cultural workshop in 2009. The short term media and cross-cultural workshop intend to provide special topics in media productions, English, and cultural experiences in Asia for educating Korean youth to witness Christian presence in building harmonious community in Asia.

5. Relevant Communication Related Topics

FISC continue to seek creative and innovative ways in providing sound media and communication-related workshops and training for intended clients in AP region. FISC also seeks to make constructive partnerships with various Christian media organizations in delivering those workshops and trainings.
