VISION
The program envisions a church that is revolutionized and passionate towards the pressing need to put the child in the midst (Matthew 18: 1-3).
MISSION
This program will equip the leaders to strategically train teachers, caregivers, child advocates, and practitioners who have the gift, skill, and capacity to directly care for children inside and outside the confines of the church.
VALUES
This program is Christ-centered education; holistic approach to children’s ministry; intentional and strategic intervention; learning for life contexts; and developmental orientation.
SUMMER 2008 MODULES
HCD
Child, Church, and Mission
April 14 to May 2, 2008 (With Dr. Dan Brewster)
This course provides an overview of holistic child development, the Biblical foundations for children’s ministries, the work of child development, the roles and responsibilities of the church in caring for needy children, and the place of children’s ministries as strategies and resources for missions.
Spiritual Nurture of Children
May 5 to May 23, 2008 (With Dr. Nativity Petallar)
This course examines variables that influence the way children are seen, treated, listened to, & taught as they grow up in historical contemporary societies & cultures. It draws from socio-cultural, psychological, philosophical, curricular, historical, & theological perspectives & foundations. This course focuses on the development of children and the primary role of parents as caregivers, responsible for the teaching and nurturing of children. Thecourse also includes the role of teachers, community developers, compassion workers and others in the care and nurturing of children . The course enables adults to nurture the God-ward sensitivities of children.
Child in Changing Contexts and Cultures
May 26 to June 13, 2008 (With Dr. Robert Donahue)

PROGRAM STRUCTURE
HCD
The Graduate Certificate is a program that could be taken by professionals & practitioners who would only be available during summers. Forty-five hours of class time is required for each module. After taking three modules, students will return to their places of service for a guided practicum (3 credits).
Upon completion of 18 units, students will graduate. Courses taken in the certificate level are core courses in the MA in Holistic Child Development program.

INFORMATION
1. FEES. Tuition = P2/250 ($55) per course. Registration & Library fee = Pl/800 ($45) for the summer.
2. LODGING AND FOOD. A limited number of accommodations are available on campus. Dormitory rooms are P2/500.00 ($65) per month. Cost for eating lunch in the dining hall is P60.00 (combo meal).
3. QUALIFICATIONS: Prospective students must go through normal application procedures. An application form (available on-line through the APNTS web-site address), transcripts and recommendations are required. Graduate credit is offered to college graduates who apply to and are accepted as students of APNTS. In some cases, courses may be offered for undergraduate credit.
4. REGISTRATION – Interested persons should file their application forms and transcripts with the Registrar prior to the beginning of course work. Final registration is the afternoon of April 14/ 2008.
