Asbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky July, 1998–2005

Information Services Training Coordinator

  • Design and write the training curriculum for over 120 course modules of the technology Training Program for faculty and staff at Asbury College.

  • Teach hands-on training workshops.  I have offered over 900 training sessions to the 350+ full and part-time faculty and staff, who have logged an average of 125 days of training each year.  Over seventy-five percent of the active faculty has attended training.  Results of the program have shown a substantial increase in the use of technology within the college curriculum by the faculty and greater technological capabilities and efficiency by the staff.
  • Consult as a resource person on numerous campus software projects including design and creation of instructional materials for presentations and on-line access, web pages, book publishing, and software development including a customized chemical database for the biology and chemistry departments, video database for the media communications department, several library archives databases, career services tracking database, and an alumni survey database.
  • Administer and evaluate the Training Program through needs analysis, class scheduling, faculty/staff professional development records, course evaluations and surveys, and annual reports to the college administration.
  • Coordinated the development of a replacement budget for the technology inventory, a strategic schedule for network and end-user technology upgrades, and a priority evaluation form for instructional technology requests with the faculty during 1999-2000.

International Church of the Nazarene 1986–1996

Missionary in South Korea

  • Instructor of Christian education at Korea Nazarene Theological College (now Korea Nazarene University), 1992-95.  Courses included a four semester Sunday School Practicum emphasizing instructional methods.  I presented instructional theory with accompanying methods and required the students to use original or similar methods in local church teaching assignments.  The positive responses from the students and their churches were humbling.
  • Administered the change-over to a computerized, dual currency recordkeeping system as the Mission Treasurer, 1987-90.
  • Prepared worship materials for intercultural/interdenominational English worship services and chapels for the Taejon Christian International Elementary School on a rotation basis
  • Developed and implemented a computer curriculum for an international elementary school.  Evaluated and recommended educational software utilized in the classrooms and in computer classes
  • Speaker for auxiliary mission leadership groups, children's summer camps, mission seminars at district and local church levels while on home assignment
